Flight Surgeon is the term used to describe a 7th Cavalry who are both qualified medical officers and certified flight crew or aviator. The original Flight Surgeon Badge was first issued by the United States Army Air Forces during World War II.

Aviation crew are required to go through many hours of training to be certified and receive their flight surgeon badge.
