In the 7th Cavalry, General (GEN) is a rank (Administratively known as General O-10 (GEN)). A General Officer is an officer of high military rank. General can be used as a generic term for all grades of general officer, or it can specifically refer to a single rank that is just called General.

- No Negative Counseling Statements during the last ninety (90) days.
- No Article 15 in the last sixty ninety (90) days.
- Promoted by the Commanding General of the Regiment.
- Demonstrated excellence as a Commissioned Officer in all areas.
