Leave of absence (LOA) is a term used to describe a period of time that one is to be away from his duties in the 7th Cavalry, while maintaining the status of member. There is a second type of leave of absence called extended leave of absence (ELOA).

Leave of Absence

Leave of absence is the term used for an absence of less then 14 days. A PAF must be filled in order to be granted a LOA. During a leave of absence members are excused of all 7th Cavalry activities taking place during the absence.

Extended Leave of Absence

Extended leave of absence is the term used for and absence of more then 14 days. A PAF must be filled in order to be granted a ELOA. During an extended leave of absence members are excused of all 7th Cavalry activities taking place during the absence. In order to terminate a ELOA, a member ready to resume normal duties must fill in a PAF for "return to active duty"

Return to Active Duty

At the end of the 14 days period of a leave of absence troopers are automatically returned to active duty, unless they request such action before the end of the 14 days period. In the case of a extended leave of absence, troopers MUST fill in a PAF for "return to active duty" in order to resume their duties.
