In the 7th Cavalry, New Recruit have different names corresponding to the area of operation they are joining. This rank is granted upon completion of the application process. New Recruits will be promoted to next rank once they have successfully completed Boot camp.

DEP, Delayed Entry Program, 2nd Battalion, Alpha Company (America's Army 3) trainee
RCT, Recruit, 2nd Battalion Bravo Company (Call of Duty 4) trainee
GRT, Grunt, 2nd Battalion Charlie Company (Call of Duty 5) trainee
SLD, Soldier, 2nd Battalion Delta Company (Battlefield Bad Company 2) trainee
