Regimental Departments are groups of officers and enlisted personnel that provide specific functions for the 7th Cavalry.

Regimental Recruiting

The recruiting office coordinates and leads the recruiting effort for the 7th Cavalry Regiment.

Recruit Training Command

Recruit Training Command is charged with indoctrinating recruits into the 7th Cavalry Regiment. Their mission is to transform ordinary “civilians” to 7th Cavalry troopers.

Judge Advocate General Corps

Judge Advocate General's Corps, also known as JAG, is the judicial arm of the 7th Cavalry Regiment. They are charged with the defense and prosecution of individuals under military law as provided in the Uniform Code of Military Justice. Officers of the Corps are the chief officers of the court-martial and court of inquiry.

Military Police Corps

The Military Police Corps, or MP, is the uniformed law enforcement branch of the 7th Cavalry Regiment. They are charged with enforcing of the Regiment’s rules and regulations, and investigations when these are violated.

Garry Owen Bugle, Regimental Newspaper

The Garry Owen Bugle, also known as the GOB, this department is tasked with writing and publishing the Regiment’s periodical newsletter, also named “Garry Owen Bugle”.
