A squadron is a military unit typically composed of two to four composed of flights. Squadrons are small unit or formation of cavalry, armour, aircraft (including balloons), or warships. Squadrons are organized into a Company, which typically consists of two to four squadrons. Typically the smallest military unit led by a commissioned officer or warrant officers—the squadron leader is the same as a platoon leader. He is usually assisted by a senior non-commissioned officer—the squadron sergeant, identical to a platoon sergeant
